Stichting Wees Kind has four main goals:

Shelter
Stichting Wees Kind has a childrens home in co-operation with the nuns of the Catholic order of Madre María Teresa Cámera. The nuns are dedicated to the daily care and wellbeing of the children. More
Food and Clothing
Stichting Wees Kind makes sure that the children are provided with nutritious food. The organisation also collects and distributes clothing for the children.
Additionally, Stichting Wees Kind supports 3 soup kitchens in Huaraz and surroundings, where healthy meals are prepared for a few hundred children from poor families on a daily basis.
Education
Stichting Wees Kind provides the opportunity for the children of Los Pinos to attend school in order to give them independence in the future. The Foundation supplies the school uniforms, materials, transportation and school fees. The volunteers who work for the organisation help the children with their homework, and assist them with general social development. In Monterrey our volunteers assist the teachers in the kindergarten and teach English to both teachers and pupils.
(Medical) Care
Stichting Wees Kind makes sure that the children in the childrens home are given proper medical care and love and attention to aslo help with their emotional health.
Besides regular visits to the dentist and a physician, the organisation has contracted a psychologist who contributes to the improvement of their mental health. For the children of the soup kitchen we provide dental care.
